Higher education is provided by Yorkshire Coast College and Scarborough Sixth Form College. In a recent Ofsted inspection the inspectors found the overall level of teaching at Scarborough Sixth Form College was good in all subjects, with pass rates being high in most of the curriculum areas. The college was found to be well managed with good strategic and financial planning, offering students good opportunities to succeed.
Yorkshire Coast College is perhaps the biggest provider of vocational education and training in the Scarborough and Ryedale area. The college works with over 700 employers and these links help all their learners, whether work-based or in traditional full time study.
Universities
There is plenty of opportunity for further education study at Hull University which runs several Undergraduate and Post-graduate courses at its Scarborough campus including the School of Arts. York University just 40mins travel away. |
