Woodend’s Eco-credentials
By admin • Jun 2nd, 2008 • Category: SustainabilityThe Woodend Creative Workspace, Scarborough’s latest business centre development, caters for both growing and established businesses based in the arts, cultural, new media and technology sectors. This 19th century building, formerly a natural history museum, was also once the summer residence of the famous Sitwell family.
The Scarborough Borough Council took measures to ensure this Grade II listed building renovation project, once named Wood End, not only kept its charming character, that of a delightful Georgian villa, but also included some important environmental features demanded by modern businesses contemplating new office space at Woodend.
Here is a list of some environmental features adopted by the new Woodend centre…
- Sensor Lighting
- Cedum Roof
- Thin-client Computing
- Server Virtualisation
- Natural Cooling and Ventilation
- Kettle-free Boiling System
- Efficient Sanitary Systems
