Wind Farm industry related opportunities and membership of the newly formed Whitby and Scarborough Off Shore Wind Network

The UK Government are currently progressing plans to establish significant wind farms off the North East Coast of England; 2,500 wind turbines over an area in excess of 8500km2 at Dogger Bank. Whitby is the closest port to Dogger Bank, some 197km from shore. There are tremendous business development opportunities that can be gained from these investments with the potential to create new businesses and jobs in the Borough of Scarborough and surrounding areas.
